CoWorking Comes to Salt Lake City: BetaLoft Brings Hope to Salt Lake Area Entrepreneurs and Star PDF Print E-mail
Salt Lake City, UT - July 31, 2009 - CoWorking is the idea that you can work side by side with other self-employed people and small startups - a growing trend in our down economy. "But when you are working alone you tend to lose that creative collaboration, says Drew Tyler, owner and founder of the Salt Lake CoWorking center, BetaLoft. "At Betaloft, everyone benefits from the energy that is created," he says.

CoWorking is actually a new global movement, inspired by these tough times. It's a community of cafe-like collaboration spaces where developers, freelancers, writers, designers and independents can make contacts and network with other small business owners while having access to high-tech facilities and sharing costly overhead expenses.

"BetaLoft is more than a great place to work. Itis a space where individuals who recognize the benefits of collaboration and synergy can be a part of aproductive community. Itʼs a place where people can be more creative, more effective, learn from othersand be happier . . . the concept of a cooperative work environment, combined with brilliant people, resultsin a space that promotes creativity, encourages motivation, and refreshes the mind."

It makes perfect economical sense in today's economy to share the cost of office space overhead, and it often feels impossible for small businesses and freelancers to have the presence of the 'big boys' unless they unite and combine resources."

BetaLoft also separates itself from most of the other currently established CoWorking spaces across the country by offering a photo and video studio, production editing and a full podcasting and video conferencing solution. "Having done freelance and corporate video work, I wanted to have a creative space where I could work with others in the digital media industry and still maintain my independence," says Tyler. "I wanted to make sure there was an area inside of BetaLoft where freelancers, podcasters and small businesses could have access to high quality video equipment for podcasting or web video production. Many successful freelancers hesitate taking the next step in business growth because of the cost of maintaining an office location, and CoWorking allows those same individuals to be more productive, more professional and more connected."

BetaLoft will be having a Grand Opening ribbon cutting ceremony with the Salt Lake Chamber of
Commerce at Noon on Wednesday, August 5th followed by their Open House and TweetUp networking mixer from 5 to 8pm. Food, drinks and Wi-Fi will be provided and Salt Lake area entrepreneurs and freelancers, or those hoping to do so, are welcomed and encouraged to come down and try the facilities for free all day as part of the celebration.
